Candle Care
Our candles are meticulously tested to standards far above what the industry qualifies as acceptable and good. I am proud of the amount of testing and revisions made to produce Yangcho Lab candles. However, in order to obtain the best burn and fragrance throw, proper safety measures must be continued by the user. Please refer to this guide to maintain a good burn for your candle.

Wick Maintenance
Ideally the wick should be trimmed to or kept at a 1/4" (.25 inch) height, preferably after a burn or before lighting. This will remove any clubbing the wick may have post combustion. Some candles naturally build up these carbon balls (mushrooming effect) and can affect the performance of the candle such as the quality of fragrance throw or how it burns.
Burning
Burn your candle for at least 2 hours on first use. The first burn is important and can set the stage for consecutive burns. Keeping candles lit for too little amounts of time may cause candles to tunnel which reduces performance and longevity of total burn time.
Our candles should not stay lit for longer than 4 hours at a time. Burning a candle for excessive amounts of time (over 4 hours) may compromise the integrity of the burn and the vessel in which it is contained. The overall temperature increases the longer the burn period, and as the wax continues to get consumed down the jar, the burns only get hotter.
*For additional safety tips and notices, refer to the underside of the candle jar!
